My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? Why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?


Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;


Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.


And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, E´lo-i, E´lo-i, lama sabach´thani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?


saying, God hath forsaken him: persecute and take him; for there is none to deliver him.


And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.


Is it nothing to you, all ye that pass by? Behold, and see if there be any sorrow like unto my sorrow, which is done unto me, wherewith the Lord hath afflicted me in the day of his fierce anger.


Some of them that stood there, when they heard that, said, This man calleth for Eli´jah.
