Therefore the flight shall perish from the swift, and the strong shall not strengthen his force, neither shall the mighty deliver himself:


How much less to him that accepteth not the persons of princes, nor regardeth the rich more than the poor? For they all are the work of his hands.


And Gideon went up by the way of them that dwelt in tents on the east of Nobah and Jog´behah, and smote the host: for the host was secure.


And Gideon the son of Jo´ash returned from battle before the sun was up,


I saw the tents of Cushan in affliction: and the curtains of the land of Mid´i-an did tremble.


Thou hast multiplied the nation, and not increased the joy: they joy before thee according to the joy in harvest, and as men rejoice when they divide the spoil.
