And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors; and their works do follow them.


They shall go down to the bars of the pit, when our rest together is in the dust.


Let us labor therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.


There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.


Oh that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me!


And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.


And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.


(for that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds:)


Moreover the Lord will also deliver Israel with thee into the hand of the Philistines: and tomorrow shalt thou and thy sons be with me: the Lord also shall deliver the host of Israel into the hand of the Philistines.


or as a hidden untimely birth I had not been; as infants which never saw light.


There the prisoners rest together; they hear not the voice of the oppressor.


Wherefore I praised the dead which are already dead, more than the living which are yet alive.


Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun.
