and though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:


so man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep.


And when Jacob had made an end of commanding his sons, he gathered up his feet into the bed, and yielded up the ghost, and was gathered unto his people.


Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband.


Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.


The wicked is driven away in his wickedness: but the righteous hath hope in his death.


But the eyes of the wicked shall fail, and they shall not escape, and their hope shall be as the giving up of the ghost.


Wherefore then hast thou brought me forth out of the womb? Oh that I had given up the ghost, and no eye had seen me!


Why died I not from the womb? Why did I not give up the ghost when I came out of the belly?


For we are strangers before thee, and sojourners, as were all our fathers: our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is none abiding.


For now should I have lain still and been quiet, I should have slept: then had I been at rest,


Is it good that he should search you out? Or as one man mocketh another, do ye so mock him?


yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant.


And why dost thou not pardon my transgression, and take away mine iniquity? For now shall I sleep in the dust; and thou shalt seek me in the morning, but I shall not be.


yet he shall perish for ever like his own dung: they which have seen him shall say, Where is he?


All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.


Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?
