The men of Dedan were thy merchants; many isles were the merchandise of thine hand: they brought thee for a present, horns of ivory and ebony.


Now the sons of Ketu´rah, Abraham's concubine: she bare Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Mid´i-an, and Ishbak, and Shu´ah. And the sons of Jokshan; Sheba, and Dedan.


And Jokshan begat Sheba, and Dedan. And the sons of Dedan were As´shurim, and Let´ushim, and Le´ummim.


For this Hagar is Mount Si´nai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.


It shall never be inhabited, neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation: neither shall the Arabian pitch tent there; neither shall the shepherds make their fold there.

The watchman said, The morning cometh, and also the night: if ye will inquire, inquire ye: return, come.


Flee ye, turn back, dwell deep, O inhabitants of Dedan; for I will bring the calamity of Esau upon him, the time that I will visit him.
