And they shall be mine, saith the Lord of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.


Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of many colors.


And he went in also unto Rachel, and he loved also Rachel more than Le´ah, and served with him yet seven other years.


And Jacob lifted up his eyes, and looked, and, behold, Esau came, and with him four hundred men. And he divided the children unto Le´ah, and unto Rachel, and unto the two handmaids.


And he passed over before them, and bowed himself to the ground seven times, until he came near to his brother.


your mother shall be sore confounded; she that bare you shall be ashamed: behold, the hindermost of the nations shall be a wilderness, a dry land, and a desert.


And Laban had two daughters: the name of the elder was Le´ah, and the name of the younger was Rachel.
