Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.


Yet they tempted and provoked the most high God, and kept not his testimonies:


Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.


Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?


And he called him, and said unto him, How is it that I hear this of thee? give an account of thy stewardship; for thou mayest be no longer steward.


Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.


That they may do evil with both hands earnestly, the prince asketh, and the judge asketh for a reward; and the great man, he uttereth his mischievous desire: so they wrap it up.


Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.


Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.


When thou sawest a thief, then thou consentedst with him, and hast been partaker with adulterers.


But Eli´sha sat in his house, and the elders sat with him; and the king sent a man from before him: but ere the messenger came to him, he said to the elders, See ye how this son of a murderer hath sent to take away mine head? look, when the messenger cometh, shut the door, and hold him fast at the door: is not the sound of his master's feet behind him?


Because all those men which have seen my glory, and my miracles, which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have tempted me now these ten times, and have not hearkened to my voice;


And he called the name of the place Massah, and Mer´ibah, because of the chiding of the children of Israel, and because they tempted the Lord, saying, Is the Lord among us, or not?


Wherefore the people did chide with Moses, and said, Give us water that we may drink. And Moses said unto them, Why chide ye with me? wherefore do ye tempt the Lord?


and how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!


And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried him out, and buried him.


And it came to pass, when God caused me to wander from my father's house, that I said unto her, This is thy kindness which thou shalt show unto me; at every place whither we shall come, say of me, He is my brother.
