Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the Scriptures,


The Lord God hath opened mine ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away back.


Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.


So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that showeth mercy.


for it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.


And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord.


And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth.


And he departed thence, and entered into a certain man's house, named Justus, one that worshipped God, whose house joined hard to the synagogue.


saying, I am Alpha and Ome´ga, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Per´gamos, and unto Thy-ati´ra, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto La-odice´a.


a devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God always.


And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship,


And there were certain Greeks among them that came up to worship at the feast:


My beloved put in his hand by the hole of the door, and my bowels were moved for him.


Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.


Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas; who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.


But the Jews stirred up the devout and honorable women, and the chief men of the city, and raised persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them out of their coasts.


And they went out of the prison, and entered into the house of Lydia: and when they had seen the brethren, they comforted them, and departed.
