the plain also, and Jordan, and the coast thereof, from Chin´nereth even unto the sea of the plain, even the salt sea, under Ash´doth–pis´gah eastward.


Now the word of the Lord came unto Jonah the son of Amit´tai, saying,


And at that time Solomon held a feast, and all Israel with him, a great congregation, from the entering in of Hamath unto the river of Egypt, before the Lord our God, seven days and seven days, even fourteen days.


and from thence passeth on along on the east to Gittah–he´pher, to It´tah–ka´zin, and goeth out to Rem´mon–metho´ar to Ne´ah;


So they went up, and searched the land from the wilderness of Zin unto Rehob, as men come to Hamath.


A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonah. And he left them, and departed.


But, behold, I will raise up against you a nation, O house of Israel, saith the Lord the God of hosts; and they shall afflict you from the entering in of Hamath unto the river of the wilderness.


And Jeho´ash the son of Jeho´ahaz took again out of the hand of Ben–ha´dad the son of Haz´a-el the cities, which he had taken out of the hand of Jeho´ahaz his father by war. Three times did Jo´ash beat him, and recovered the cities of Israel.


In those days the Lord began to cut Israel short: and Haz´a-el smote them in all the coasts of Israel;


All these were joined together in the vale of Siddim, which is the salt sea.


(And the Lord gave Israel a saviour, so that they went out from under the hand of the Syrians: and the children of Israel dwelt in their tents, as beforetime.


And he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord: he departed not from all the sins of Jerobo´am the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.


Ye shall fall by the sword; I will judge you in the border of Israel; and ye shall know that I am the Lord.
