And the days which Jerobo´am reigned were two and twenty years: and he slept with his fathers, and Nadab his son reigned in his stead.


And it came to pass about ten days after, that the Lord smote Nabal, that he died.


And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.


Son of man, behold, I take away from thee the desire of thine eyes with a stroke: yet neither shalt thou mourn nor weep, neither shall thy tears run down.


And in the twentieth year of Jerobo´am king of Israel reigned Asa over Judah.


David said furthermore, As the Lord liveth, the Lord shall smite him; or his day shall come to die; or he shall descend into battle, and perish.


And Abi´jah pursued after Jerobo´am, and took cities from him, Beth–el with the towns thereof, and Jesha´nah with the towns thereof, and E´phra-in with the towns thereof.


But Abi´jah waxed mighty, and married fourteen wives, and begat twenty and two sons, and sixteen daughters.
