Then came the daughters of Zelo´phehad, the son of Hepher, the son of Gil´e-ad, the son of Machir, the son of Manas´seh, of the families of Manas´seh the son of Joseph: and these are the names of his daughters; Mahlah, Noah, and Hoglah, and Milcah, and Tirzah.


And I gave Gil´e-ad unto Machir.


Of the sons of Manas´seh: of Machir, the family of the Ma´chirites: and Machir begat Gil´e-ad: of Gil´e-ad come the family of the Gil´e-adites.


And Joseph saw E´phra-im's children of the third generation: the children also of Machir the son of Manas´seh were brought up upon Joseph's knees.


And Hur begat Uri, and Uri begat Bez´aleel.


And Segub begat Ja´ir, who had three and twenty cities in the land of Gil´e-ad.


And Ja´ir the son of Manas´seh went and took the small towns thereof, and called them Havoth–ja´ir.


The sons of Manas´seh; Ash´ri-el, whom she bare; (but his concubine the Arami´tess bare Machir the father of Gil´e-ad:
