23 And they came in to the valley of Eshcol, and cut down from there a branch and one cluster of grapes. And they bore it on a staff by two; also of the pomegranates, and of the figs.

And they went up to the valley of Eshcol and saw the land, and discouraged the hearts of the sons of Israel, so as for them not to go into the land which Jehovah had given to them.


That place was called the Valley of Eshcol, because of the cluster which the sons of Israel cut from there.
