Joshua 8:31 - King James 3 - The Literal Traslation

31 as Moses, the servant of Jehovah, commanded the sons of Israel, as it is written in the book of the Law of Moses; an altar of whole stones, on which had been wielded no iron. And they offered upon it burnt offerings to Jehovah, and offered peace offerings.

and they removed the burnt offering, to distribute them by the divisions of the house of the fathers of the sons of the people, to offer to Jehovah, as it is written in the book of Moses, and so to the oxen.


This book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, and you shall meditate on it by day and by night, so that you shall be on guard to do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall prosper your way, and then you shall act wisely.


And he sent young men of the sons of Israel. And they offered up burnt offerings, and sacrificed sacrifices of bulls, peace offerings to Jehovah.


And Jethro, the father-in-law of Moses, took a burnt offering and sacrifices to God. And Aaron and all the elders of Israel came to eat bread before God with Moses’ father- in-law.

But he did not cause their sons to die, but did as is written in the Law, in the Book of Moses, whom Jehovah commanded, saying, The fathers shall not die for the sons, and the sons shall not die for the fathers; but they each man shall die for his own sin.


And Hilkiah the high priest said to Shaphan the scribe, I have found the Book of the Law in the house of Jehovah; and Hilkiah gave the book to Shaphan, and he read it.


But he did not cause to die the sons of those who struck him, as it is written in the book of the Law of Moses that Jehovah commanded, saying, The fathers not shall die for the sons, and the sons not shall die for the fathers, but each man shall die for his own sin.


and it shall be in the day you cross over the Jordan to the land which Jehovah your God is giving to you, that you shall raise up for yourself great stones, and plaster them with plaster.


And you shall write on the stones all the words of this Law very plainly.
