9 And Jehovah said to Joshua, Today I have rolled the reproach of Egypt off of you. And he called the name of that place Gilgal to this day.

And David spoke to the men who were standing with him, saying, What shall be done to the man who strikes this Philistine, and turns aside reproach from Israel? For who is this uncircumcised Philistine that he should reproach the armies of the living God?


And the people came up out of the Jordan on the tenth of the first month, and camped in Gilgal, in the east border of Jericho.


And they said to them, We are not able to do this thing, to give our sister to a man who is uncircumcised. For it is a reproach to us.


Bring out the reviler to the outside of the camp. And all those who heard shall lay their hands on his head, and all the congregation shall stone him.


And she did not leave her fornications from Egypt. For they lay with her in her youth, and they worked her virgin nipples and poured their fornications on her.


And they fornicated in Egypt; in their youth they fornicated. Their breasts were handled, and there their virgin nipples were worked.


Behold, the days come, a statement of Jehovah, that I will call to account all the circumcised with foreskin:


Turn away my shame which I fear; for Your judgments are good.


Your servant has struck both the lion and the bear, and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them, for he has reproached the armies of the living God.


And Jonathan said to the young man bearing his weapons, Come, we shall cross over to the garrison of these uncircumcised ones. It may be Jehovah will work for us, for there is no hindrance to Jehovah, to save by many or by few.


Now, then, fear Jehovah, and serve Him in sincerity and truth, and turn away from the gods which your fathers served Beyond the River, and in Egypt; and you serve Jehovah.


And it happened, when all the nation had finished being circumcised, they remained in their places in the camp until they revived.


And he went from year to year even in a circuit to Bethel, and Gilgal, and Mizpeh, and judged Israel in all these places.


And the king returned and came in to the Jordan. And Judah had come to Gilgal, to go to meet the king, to bring the king over the Jordan.


My people, remember now what Balak, king of Moab, planned; and what Balaam, the son of Beor, answered him from Shittim to Gilgal, so that you may know the righteousnesses of Jehovah.


I have heard the scorn of Moab, and the revilings of the sons of Ammon, with which they have cursed My people and have magnified themselves on their border.


and from the house of Gilgal, and out of the fields of Geba and Azmaveth (for the singers had built themselves villages all around Jerusalem).


Israel, though you fornicate, do not let Judah become guilty. And do not come to Gilgal, and not go up to Beth-aven, and not swear, As Jehovah lives.


But do not seek Beth-el, and do not enter Gilgal, and do not cross over to Beersheba; for going Gilgal shall go into exile, and Beth-el shall be for nothing.
