For Jehovah comforts Zion. He comforts all her desolations, and He makes her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of Jehovah; joy and gladness shall be found in it, thanksgiving and the voice of singing praise.


And Jehovah God planted a garden in Eden to the east; and He put the man whom He had formed there.


But I stormed them away on all the nations whom they did not know. And the land is desolated behind them, from passing and from turning back; for they made the land of desire a waste.


And they covered the eye of the earth, and the land became dark. And they ate every plant of the land, and all the fruit of the trees that the hail had left. And no green thing was left in the trees and in the plants of the field in all the land of Egypt.


And they will cover the eye of the land, and no one will be able to see the land. And they will eat the rest of that which escaped, that which is left to you from the hail. And they will eat every tree that sprouts to you from the field.


The Lord Jehovah made me to see this: And, behold, the Lord Jehovah was calling to contend by fire. And it consumed the great deep, and it was devouring part of it.


And they will eat up your harvest and your food, and they will eat up your sons and your daughters. They will eat up your flocks and your herds; they will eat up your vines and your fig trees. One shall beat down your fortified cities with the sword, those in which you trust.


Our God comes, and He is not silent; a fire shall devour before Him; and it shall be very stormy around Him.


And Lot lifted up his eyes and saw all the circuit of Jordan, that it was well-watered before Jehovah destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah; even like the garden of Jehovah, like the land of Egypt as you come to Zoar.


A fire goes before Him and burns up His adversaries all around.


For wickedness burns like a fire; it shall devour the briers and thorns; and it kindles the thickets of the forest; and they shall roll upward, like the rising up of smoke.


The land is scorched by the wrath of Jehovah of Hosts, and the people shall be as the fuel of the fire; they shall not spare a man to his brother.

For Nimrim’s waters are desolations; for the hay is dried up; the grass fails; there is not a green thing.


And they shall say, This land that was desolated has become like the garden of Eden. And the wasted and desolated and torn down cities are fortified and inhabited.


And Your prey shall be gathered as the stripping locust gathers; as locusts run to and fro, he also runs about on it.


For, behold, I am raising up the Chaldeans, the bitter and impetuous nation that is going into the broad spaces of the land, to possess dwellings not belonging to him.
