For ships of Kittim shall come against him; therefore he shall be grieved, and shall return, and have indignation against the holy covenant, and shall do [his pleasure]: he shall even return, and have regard to those who forsake the holy covenant.


He looked at `Amalek, and took up his parable, and said, `Amalek was the first of the nations, But his latter end shall come to destruction.


If we leave him alone like this, everyone will believe in him, and the Romans will come and take away both our place and our nation.*


*When, therefore, you see the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of through Daniyel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand),


He shall plant the tents of his palace between the sea and the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.

The burden of Tzor. Howl, you ships of Tarshish! For it is laid waste, so that there is no house, no entering in. From the land of Kittim it is revealed to them.

He took up his parable, and said, Alas, who shall live when God does this?


Of the oaks of Bashan have they made your oars; they have made your benches of ivory inlaid in boxwood, from the islands of Kittim.


Alas Ashur, the rod of my anger, the staff in whose hand is my indignation!


Therefore it will happen that, when the Lord has performed his whole work on Mount Tziyon and on Yerushalayim, I will punish the fruit of the willful proud heart of the king of Ashur, and the insolence of his haughty looks.
