You shall not tempt the LORD your God, as you tempted him in Massah.


Neither let us test the Lord, as some of them tested, and perished by the serpents.


They tempted God in their heart by asking food according to their desire.


They turned again and tempted God, and provoked the Holy One of Yisra'el.


where your fathers tested me by proving me, and saw my works for forty years.


He called the name of the place Massah, and Merivah, because the children of Yisra'el quarreled, and because they tested the LORD, saying, *Is the LORD among us, or not?*


Therefore the people quarreled with Moshe, and said, *Give us water to drink.* Moshe said to them, *Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you test the LORD?*

Then Yeshua said to him, *Get behind me, Hasatan! For it is written, 'You shall worship the Lord your God, and him only shall you serve.'*


Yeshua said to them, *Did you never read in the Scriptures, 'The stone which the builders rejected, the same was made the head of the corner. This was from the Lord. It is marvelous in our eyes?'


and said to him, *Do you hear what these are saying?* Yeshua said to them, *Yes. Did you never read, 'Out of the mouth of babes and nursing babies you have perfected praise?'*


Yeshua answering, said to him, *It has been said, 'You shall not tempt the Lord your God.'*


Now therefore why do you tempt God, that you should put a yoke on the neck of the talmidim which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?
