Others, testing him, sought from him a sign from heaven.


As they spoke to the people, the Kohanim and the captain of the temple and the Tzedukim came to them,


Yeshua said to them, *Take heed and beware of the yeast of the Perushim and Tzedukim.*


For Jews ask for signs, Greeks seek after wisdom,


They said this testing him, that they might have something to accuse him of. But Yeshua stooped down, and wrote on the ground with his finger.


But the Kohen Gadol rose up, and all those who were with him (which is the sect of the Tzedukim), and they were filled with jealousy,


Some of the Tzedukim came to him, those who deny that there is a resurrection.


But he perceived their craftiness, and said to them, *Why do you test me?


Behold, a certain Torah scholar stood up and tested him, saying, *Rabbi, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?*


There came to him Tzedukim, who say that there is no resurrection. They asked him, saying,


Shall we give, or shall we not give?* But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said to them, *Why do you test me? Bring me a denarius, that I may see it.*


Perushim came to him testing him, and asked him, *Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?*


Now on the next day, which was the day after the Preparation Day, the chief Kohanim and the Perushim were gathered together to Pilate,


saying, *The scribes and the Perushim sat on Moshe' seat.


On that day Tzedukim (those who say that there is no resurrection) came to him. They asked him,


But Yeshua perceived their wickedness, and said, *Why do you test me, you hypocrites?


Then the Perushim went and took counsel how they might entrap him in his talk.


Perushim came to him, testing him, and saying, *Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any reason?*


Then Perushim and scribes came to Yeshua from Yerushalayim, saying,


But the Perushim went out, and conspired against him, how they might destroy him.


When the Perushim saw it, they said to his talmidim, *Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?*


For I tell you that unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Perushim, there is no way you will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.


Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own eyes.
