For Herod himself had sent out and arrested Yochanan, and bound him in prison for the sake of Herodias, his brother Philip's wife, for he had married her.


Now when Yeshua heard that Yochanan was delivered up, he withdrew into the Galil.


When the daughter of Herodias herself came in and danced, she pleased Herod and those sitting with him. The king said to the young lady, *Ask me whatever you want, and I will give it to you.*


Herodias set herself against him, and desired to kill him, but she couldn't,


Now when Yochanan heard in the prison the works of Messiah, he sent two of his talmidim


Now there were some present at the same time who told him about the Galileans, whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices.


But when Herod's birthday came, the daughter of Herodias danced among them and pleased Herod.


King Herod heard this, for his name had become known, and he said, *Yochanan the immerser has risen from the dead, and therefore these powers are at work in him.*


He charged them, saying, *Take heed: beware of the yeast of the Perushim and the yeast of Herod.*


Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Yehudah, and Herod being tetrarch of the Galil, and his brother Philip tetrarch of the region of Ituraea and Trachonitis, and Lysanias tetrarch of Abilene,


and Yochanah, the wife of Kusa, Herod's steward; Shoshanah; and many others; who served them from their possessions.


On that same day, some Perushim came, saying to him, *Get out of here, and go away, for Herod wants to kill you.*


When he found out that he was in Herod's jurisdiction, he sent him to Herod, who was also in Yerushalayim during those days.


Herod with his soldiers humiliated him and mocked him. Dressing him in luxurious clothing, they sent him back to Pilate.


*For truly, in this city against your holy servant, Yeshua, whom you anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Yisra'el, were gathered together


Now about that time, Herod the king stretched out his hands to oppress some of the assembly.
