A certain ruler asked him, saying, *Good Rabbi, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?*


For if the inheritance is of the law, it is no more of promise; but God has granted it to Avraham by promise.


But the Perushim and the Torah scholars rejected the counsel of God, not being immersed by him themselves.


As he was going out into the way, one ran to him, knelt before him, and asked him, *Good Rabbi, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?*


One of the scribes came, and heard them questioning together. Knowing that he had answered them well, asked him, *Which mitzvah is the greatest of all?*

They said this testing him, that they might have something to accuse him of. But Yeshua stooped down, and wrote on the ground with his finger.


He answered, *What did Moshe command you?*
