But Jesus, aware of this, said to them, “Why do you trouble the woman? For she has done a beautiful thing to me.


While he was saying these things to them, behold, a ruler came in and knelt before him, saying, “My daughter has just died, but come and lay your hand on her, and she will live.”


Then came one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name, and seeing him, he fell at his feet


and he will answer from within, ‘Do not bother me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed. I cannot get up and give you anything’?


And Jesus went with them. When he was not far from the house, the centurion sent friends, saying to him, “Lord, do not trouble yourself, for I am not worthy to have you come under my roof.
