Let every soul submit to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except by God, and the authorities that exist are instituted by God.


For rulers are not a fear to good works, but to evil. And do you wish not to fear the authority? Do what is good, and you shall have praise from the same.


Therefore it is necessary to be subject, not only on account of wrath, but also for conscience' sake.


You will say to me then, "Why does He still find fault? For who has ever resisted His will?"


Remind them to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work,


My brothers, let not many become teachers, knowing that we shall receive greater judgment.


Therefore subject yourselves to every human institution on account of the Lord: whether to the king as to one having authority,
