"Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered up to the chief priests and to the scribes; and they will condemn Him to death and will deliver Him over to the Gentiles;


And the chief priests were accusing Him of many things.


saying, 'The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and on the third day rise again.' "


Then Pilate went out to them and said, "What accusation do you bring against this Man?"


Then Pilate said to them, "You take Him and judge Him according to your law." Therefore the Jews said to him, "It is not lawful for us to kill anyone,"


From this point Pilate was seeking to release Him, but the Jews kept crying out, saying, "If you release this Man, you are no friend of Caesar's. Whoever makes himself a king speaks against Caesar."


The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified His Servant Jesus, whom you indeed delivered up and denied Him in the presence of Pilate, when he had decided to release Him.


in which I endure hardship unto chains as an evildoer; but the word of God is not chained.


For let not anyone of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or an evildoer, or as a meddler in other people's affairs;
