And while He was in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as He was reclining for a meal, a woman came having an alabaster flask of very costly pure nard. And having broken the flask, she began to pour it out over His head.


When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said to her, "Do not weep."


And summoning two of his disciples, John sent them to Jesus, saying, "Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?"


Then Martha said to Jesus, "Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.


Therefore the sisters sent to Him, saying, "Lord, behold, he whom You love is sick."


Then, when Mary came where Jesus was, seeing Him, she fell down at His feet, saying to Him, "Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died."


Then Mary, having taken a pound of very costly pure nard, anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped His feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.


You call me Teacher and Lord, and you say correctly, for so I am.


Therefore if I, your Lord and your Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet.
