1 Then Agrippa said to Paul, "It is permitted for you to speak in behalf of yourself." So Paul, having extended his hand, spoke in his own defense:

Does our law judge a man before it hears from him first, and knows what he is doing?"


"Men, brothers and fathers, hear my defense to you now."


To them I answered, 'It is not a custom with Romans to deliver any man to destruction before the one being accused may meet his accusers face to face, and may receive an opportunity for defense concerning the charge.'


For it seems unreasonable to me to send a prisoner and not to signify the accusations against him."


I have considered myself fortunate, King Agrippa, being able to speak in my own defense today, concerning all the things of which I am accused of by the Jews,


But the Lord said to him, "Go your way, for he is a chosen vessel to Me to bear My name before Gentiles and kings, and the sons of Israel.


But to Israel he says: "the whole day long I have stretched out My hands to a disobedient and contrary people."
