And the word about them was heard in the ears of the church in Jerusalem, and they sent forth Barnabas to go as far as Antioch;


But the Jews incited the devout and prominent women and the leading men of the city, raised up a persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and cast them out from their borders.


And Barnabas they called Zeus, and Paul, Hermes, since he was the leader in speaking.


and because he was of the same trade, he remained with them and worked, for they were tentmakers by trade.


And Joses, who was also named Barnabas by the apostles (which is translated Son of Encouragement), a Levite, a Cyprian by nation,


But if anyone seems to be contentious, we have no such custom, nor do the churches of God.


I robbed other churches, taking wages from them to minister to you,


For you remember, brothers, our labor and toil; for laboring night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you, we proclaimed to you the gospel of God.
