Revelation 14:8 - Easy To Read Version

8 Then the second angel followed the first angel and said, “She is destroyed! The great city of Babylon is destroyed! She (Babylon) made all the nations drink the wine of her adultery {\cf2\super [101]} and of God’s anger.”

Look! They are coming! I see rows of men and horse soldiers.”


The great city split into three parts. The cities of the nations were destroyed. And God did not forget \{to punish\} Babylon the Great. He gave that city the cup filled with the wine of his terrible anger.


The bodies of the two witnesses will lie in the street of the great city. This city is named Sodom {\cf2\super [84]} and Egypt. These names for the city have a special meaning. This is the city where the Lord was killed.


His judgments are true and right.\par Our God has punished the prostitute. {\cf2\super [144]} \par She is the one who made the earth evil\par with her sexual sin.\par God has punished the prostitute\par to pay her for the blood (death)\par of his servants.”\par


The woman you saw is the great city that rules over the kings of the earth.”


Nineveh, you have been hurt badly, and nothing can heal your wound. Everyone who hears the news of your destruction claps his hands. They are all happy! Why? Because they all felt the pain you always caused!


Then say, ‘In the same way, Babylon will sink. Babylon will rise no more. Babylon will sink because of the terrible things that I will make happen here.’”


God showed Isaiah son of Amoz this sad message about Babylon.


This is the message the Lord spoke about the nation of Babylon and the Babylonian people. The Lord spoke this message through Jeremiah.
