Every day the Lord shows his true love\par and every night, I have a song for him,\par a prayer for my Living God.\par


\{If something is bothering you,\}\par you can be angry, {\cf2\super [16]} \par but don’t sin.\par Think about those things\par when you go to bed,\par and then relax. {\cf2\super [17]} \par \i (SELAH {\cf2\super [18]})\i0 \par


About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing songs to God. The other prisoners were listening to them.


Let us check and see what we have done.\par Then let us turn back to the Lord.\par


I said to myself, “I am very wise. I am wiser than all the kings that ruled Jerusalem before me. I know what wisdom and knowledge really are!”


I will say to God:\par ‘Don’t blame me!\par Tell me,\par What have I done wrong?\par What do you have against me?\par


”Nineveh {\cf2\super [2]} is a big city. I have heard about the many evil things people are doing there. So go to that city and tell the people to stop doing those bad things.”


But those bad people\par will not ask God for help.\par They will not say,\par ‘Where is the God who made me?\par God helps people\par when they are depressed.\par So where is he?\par


“Remember what happened long ago. Think about the things that happened many, many years ago. Ask your father; he will tell you. Ask your leaders; they will tell you.


I am ready to give up.\par I am losing my courage.\par


But I remember the things\par that happened long ago.\par I am thinking about\par the many things you did.\par I am talking about the things you did\par with your great power!\par
