City of God, people say wonderful things\par about you.\par \i (SELAH {\cf2\super [496]})\i0 \par


Yes, we heard the stories\par \{about your power\}.\par But we also saw it,\par in the city of our God,\par the city of the Lord All-Powerful.\par God makes that city strong forever!\par \i (SELAH {\cf2\super [289]})\i0 \par


He lets me lie down in green pastures.\par He leads me by calm pools of water.\par


In the past, people hurt you.\par Those people will bow down before you.\par In the past, people hated you.\par Those people will bow down at your feet.\par Those people will call you\par ‘The Lord’s City.’\par ‘The Zion {\cf2\super [455]} of the Holy One of Israel.’”\par


You take care of the land.\par You water it and make it grow things.\par God, you fill the streams with water\par and make the crops grow.\par


But now I have chosen Jerusalem as a place for my name. And I have chosen David to lead my people Israel.’


If you had obeyed me,\par then peace would have come to you\par like a full flowing river.\par Good things would have come to you\par again and again,\par like the waves of the sea.\par


The angel carried me away by the Spirit {\cf2\super [160]} to a very large and high mountain. The angel showed me the holy city, Jerusalem. The city was coming down out of heaven from God.


What must I bring when I come\par to meet with the Lord?\par What must I do when I bow down\par to God above?\par Should I come to the Lord\par with burnt offerings and a year-old calf?\par


It is good to praise the Lord.\par God Most-High, it is good to praise your name.\par


You can go to God Most-High to hide.\par You can go to the God All-Powerful\par for protection.\par


The Lord is great.\par People praise him very much\par in the city of our God,\par \{on\} his holy mountain.\par


God, let your light and truth shine on me.\par Your light and truth will guide me.\par They will lead me to your holy mountain.\par They will lead me to your home.\par


But you have not come to that kind of place. The new place you have come to is Mount Zion. {\cf2\super [165]} You have come to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. {\cf2\super [166]} You have come to an excited gathering of thousands of angels.


In some country you might see poor people that are forced to work very hard. You might see that this is not fair to the poor people. It is against the rights of the poor people. But don’t be surprised! The ruler that forces those people to work has another ruler that forces him. And there is still another ruler that forces both of these rulers.


But Lord, you will be honored forever.\par


Lord, the sound of the rivers is very loud.\par The crashing waves are very loud.\par
