Please listen to the prisoners’ groan!\par God, use your great power and save\par the people who were chosen to die.\par


The Lord does right things for people\par who have been hurt.\par God gives food to hungry people.\par The Lord frees people locked in prison.\par


Then the Lord said, “I have seen the troubles my people have suffered in Egypt. And I have heard their cries when the Egyptians hurt them. I know about their pain.


Is this the same man that destroyed cities\par and changed the land into a desert?\par Is this the same man that captured people\par in war and would not let them go home?”\par


Then Jehoahaz begged the Lord to help them. And the Lord listened to him. The Lord had seen the troubles of Israel and how the king of Aram troubled the Israelites.


In the city you can hear\par the sad sounds of the dying people.\par Those hurt people cry out for help.\par But God does not listen.\par


Look down from your holy home, from heaven, and bless your people Israel. And bless the land that you gave us. You promised our ancestors [167] to give us this land—a land filled with many good things. [168] ’
