Those bad people are like lions\par waiting to kill and eat another animal.\par They hide like lions, ready to attack.\par


Look, strong men are waiting for me.\par They are waiting to kill me,\par even though I did not sin\par or commit any crime.\par


I mean, all of the faithful people are gone.\par There are no good people left\par in this country.\par Every person is waiting to kill someone.\par Every person is trying to trap his brother.\par


With my whole self I will say,\par “Lord, there is no one like you.\par You save a poor person from people that are stronger.\par You take things from strong people,\par and you give those things\par to that poor, helpless person.”\par


The worker that is paid to keep the sheep is different from the shepherd. The paid worker does not own the sheep. So when the worker sees a wolf coming, he runs away and leaves the sheep alone. Then the wolf attacks the sheep and scatters them.


Listen to the crying shepherds.\par Their powerful leaders were taken away.\par Listen to the roaring of the young lions.\par Their thick bushes near the Jordan River\par have all been taken away.\par


You used Moses’ walking stick\par to stop the enemy soldiers.\par Those soldiers came like a powerful storm\par to fight against us.\par They thought they could defeat us easily,\par like robbing a poor man in secret.\par


A lion in the forest will roar only after catching an animal. If a young lion is roaring in his cave, then it means he caught something.


“The common people take advantage of each other. They cheat and steal from each other. They get rich by taking advantage of poor helpless beggars. And they really cheat the foreigners-they are not fair to them at all!


The Lord is like a bear about to attack me.\par He is like a lion that is in a hiding place.\par


That foolish person uses evil like a tool. He plans ways to take everything from poor people. That foolish person tells lies about the poor people. And his lies keep the poor people from being judged fairly.


What gives you the right to hurt my people? What gives you the right to push the faces of the poor people into the dirt?” My Master, the Lord All-Powerful said these things.


When an evil person rules over weak people, he is like an angry lion or a bear that is ready to fight.


These two things will make you poor—hurting poor people to make yourself rich, and giving gifts to rich people.


The person that causes trouble for poor people shows that he does not respect God—God made both people. But if a person is kind to poor people, then he shows honor to God.


Those proud people set a trap for me.\par They spread a net to catch me.\par They set a trap in my path.\par \i (SELAH {\cf2\super [639]})\i0 \par


But the Lord says:\par “Bad people stole from the poor people.\par They took things from helpless people.\par But now I will stand and defend those weary (tired) people.”\par


But don’t believe them! There are more than 40 Jews who are hiding and waiting to kill Paul. They have all promised (vowed) not to eat or drink until they have killed him! Now they are waiting for you to say yes.”


The enemy catches all of them\par with hooks and nets.\par The enemy catches them in his net\par and drags them in.\par And the enemy is very happy\par with what he caught.\par


There are evil men among my people.\par Those evil men are like men\par that make nets for catching birds. {\cf2\super [35]} \par These men set their traps,\par But they catch men instead of birds.\par


Bad people get their swords\par and aim their bows.\par They want to kill poor, helpless people.\par They want to kill good, honest people.\par


Why? Because the Lord stands by\par helpless people.\par God saves them from other people\par who try to condemn them to death.\par


Those lions lie down in their caves,\par they crouch down in the grass\par \{ready to attack their prey\}.\par
