So don’t be foolish with your lives. But learn what the Lord wants you to do.

People who are evil and cheat other people will become worse and worse. They will fool other people, but they will also be fooling themselves.

Is there any person among you who is truly wise and understanding? Then he should show his wisdom by living right. He should do good things with humility. A wise person does not boast.

You were taught to leave your old self. This means that you must stop living the evil way you lived before. That old self becomes worse and worse, because people are fooled by the evil things they want to do.

An evil man cheats people and takes their money. But a person that is fair and does right will get the real reward.

I lead people in the right way.\par I lead them along the paths\par of right judgment.\par

So the Lord will give you his wisdom. Then you will understand the things that are good and fair and right.

Lord, you made me\par and you support me with your hands.\par Help me learn and understand\par your commands.\par

If I always obey your laws, Lord,\par

Wisdom begins with fear and respect\par for God.\par People who obey God are very wise.\par Praises will be sung to God forever.\par

Jerusalem, look!\par The enemy is coming from the north! {\cf2\super [114]} \par Where is your flock? {\cf2\super [115]} \par God gave that beautiful flock to you.\par \{You were supposed to care for that flock.\}\par

Lord, show me your true love this morning.\par I trust you.\par Show me the things I should do.\par I put my life in your hands!\par

Why? Because the wisdom of this world is foolishness to God. It is like the Scriptures {\cf2\super [21]} say, “He (God) catches the wise (smart) people when they use their sneaky ways.” {\cf2\super [22]}

Doing foolish things makes a foolish person happy. But a wise person is careful to do the things that are right.

Good people are fair and honest in the things they plan to do. But don’t trust the things an evil person tells you.

I saw that wisdom is better than foolishness in the same way that light is better than darkness.

The wise man and the foolish person will both die! And people will not remember either the wise man or the foolish person forever. In the future, people will forget everything they did. So both the wise man and the foolish person are really the same.
