2 They said, “Sir, the Lord commanded us to get our land by throwing lots. [392] And sir, the Lord commanded Zelophehad’s land be given to his daughters. Zelophehad was our brother.
2 and they said, The LORD commanded my lord to give the land for an inheritance by lot to the children of Israel: and my lord was commanded by the LORD to give the inheritance of Zelophehad our brother unto his daughters.
2 They said, The Lord commanded [you] my lord to give the land for inheritance by lot to the Israelites; and my lord was commanded by the Lord to give the inheritance of Zelophehad our brother to his daughters.
2 and they said, Jehovah commanded my lord to give the land for inheritance by lot to the children of Israel: and my lord was commanded by Jehovah to give the inheritance of Zelophehad our brother unto his daughters.
2 They said, “The LORD commanded my master to give the land as an inheritance by lot to the Israelites. But my master was also commanded by the LORD to give the inheritance of Zelophehad our brother to his daughters.
2 "The Lord has instructed you, our ruler, so that you would divide the land by lot to the sons of Israel, and so that you would give to the daughters of Zelophehad, our brother, the possession owed to their father.
Each of your families will get part of the land. You will throw lots [379] to decide which family gets each part of the country. Large families will get large parts of the land. Small families will get small parts of the land. The lots will show which family gets which part of the land. Each family group will get its part of the land.
Job’s daughters were among the most beautiful women in all the country. And Job even gave part of his property to his daughters—they each got a share of the property {\cf2\super [109]} , just like their brothers.
“People of Sidon are living in the hill country from Lebanon to Misrephoth Maim. But I will force out all of these people for the people of Israel. Be sure to remember this land when you divide the land among the people of Israel. Do this like I told you.
Maybe a man from one of the other family groups will marry one of Zelophehad’s daughters. Will that land leave our family? Will the people of that other family group get that land? Will we lose the land that we got by throwing lots?
