Mark 6:48 - Easy To Read Version

48 Jesus saw the boat far away on the lake. He saw the followers working hard to row the boat. The wind was blowing against them. Sometime between three and six o’clock in the morning, Jesus went to the boat. Jesus was walking on the water. Jesus continued walking until he was almost past the boat.

They came near the town of Emmaus and Jesus acted like he did not plan to stop there.


Those servants might have to wait until midnight or later for their master. But they will be happy when their master comes in and finds them still waiting.


God alone made the skies.\par He walks on the ocean waves.\par


These children were not born like little babies are born. They were not born from the wish or plan of a \{mother and\} father. These children were born from God.


At this time, the boat was already far away on the lake. The boat was having trouble because of the waves. The wind was blowing against it.


“You poor city!\par Enemies came against you like storms.\par And no one comforted you.\par But I will build you again.\par I will use a beautiful mortar\par to lay the stones of your walls.\par I will use sapphire stones\par when I lay the foundation.\par


God, you built your home above them. {\cf2\super [541]} \par You use the thick clouds like a chariot,\par and ride across the sky\par on the wings of the wind.\par


The crashing waves of the sea\par are loud and powerful.\par But the Lord above is even more powerful.\par


The next morning Saul separated his soldiers into three groups. At sunrise, Saul and his soldiers entered the Ammonite camp. Saul attacked while they were changing guards that morning. Saul and his soldiers defeated the Ammonites before noon. The Ammonite soldiers all ran away in different directions—no two soldiers stayed together.


Then the man said to Jacob, “Let me go. The sun is coming up.”


Lot said, “Sirs, please come to my house, and I will serve you. There you can wash your feet and stay the night. Then tomorrow you can continue your journey.”


Early that morning, the Lord looked down from the tall cloud and column of fire at the Egyptian army. Then the Lord attacked and defeated them all.


Remember this: If the owner of the house knew what time the thief was coming, then the owner would be ready for him. The owner would watch and not let the thief enter his house.


That night, the boat was still in the middle of the lake. Jesus was alone on the land.


But the followers saw Jesus walking on the water. They thought he was a ghost. The followers shouted with fear.


So you must always be ready. You don’t know when the owner of the house will come back. He might come in the afternoon, or at midnight, or in the early morning, or when the sun rises.
