39 The Pharisee that asked Jesus to come to his house saw this. He thought to himself, “If this man (Jesus) were a prophet, {\cf2\super [143]} he would know that the woman who is touching him is a sinner!”

All the people were filled with fear. They began praising God and said, “A great prophet {\cf2\super [129]} has come to us!” And they said, “God is taking care of his people.”


Then the Pharisees {\cf2\super [258]} and the teachers of the law began to complain, “Look! This man (Jesus) welcomes bad people and even eats with them!”


All these bad things begin inside a person, in the mind: bad thoughts, sexual sins, stealing, murder,


“But those people tell other people, ‘Don’t come near me! Don’t touch me until I make you clean.’ Those people are like smoke in my eyes. And their fire burns all the time.”


So the Jewish leaders called the man that had been blind. They told the man to come in again. They said, “You should give God the glory \{by telling the truth\}. We know that this man (Jesus) is a sinner.”


There was a large group of people there. Many of these people were talking secretly to each other about Jesus. Some people said, “He is a good man.” But other people said, “No, he fools the people.”


The woman said, “Sir, I can see that you are a prophet. {\cf2\super [64]}


But the judge did not want to help the woman. After a long time, the judge thought to himself, ‘I don’t care about God. And I don’t care about what people think.


Later, the manager thought to himself, ‘What will I do? My master is taking my job away from me! I am not strong enough to dig ditches. I am too proud to beg.


There was a sinful woman in that town. She knew that Jesus was eating at the Pharisee’s house. So the woman brought some perfume in an alabaster {\cf2\super [142]} jar.


You must do the things that will show that you have really changed your hearts and lives. And don’t think that saying, ‘Abraham {\cf2\super [49]} is our father’ will help you. I tell you that God can make children for Abraham from these rocks here!


He is the kind of man who is always thinking about the cost. He might say to you, “Eat and drink.” But that is not really what he wants.


But Gehazi, the servant of Elisha the man of God, [50] said, “Look, my master (Elisha) has let Naaman the Aramean go without accepting the gift that he brought! As the Lord lives, I will run after Naaman and get something from him!”


The rich man thought to himself, ‘What will I do? I have no place to keep all my crops.’


“So the people that have the last place now will have the first place in the future. And the people that have the first place now will have the last place in the future.”


The many people following Jesus answered, “This man is Jesus. He is the prophet {\cf2\super [284]} from the town of Nazareth in Galilee.”


She stood at Jesus’ feet, crying. Then she began to wash his feet with her tears. She dried Jesus’ feet with her hair. She kissed his feet many times and rubbed them with perfume.


In response, Jesus said to the Pharisee, {\cf2\super [144]} “Simon, I have something to say to you.”
