37 I will break Elam to pieces\par while their enemies are watching.\par I will break Elam in front of those people\par that want to kill them.\par I will bring terrible troubles to them.\par I will show them how angry I am.”\par This message is from the Lord.\par “I will send a sword to chase Elam.\par The sword will chase them\par until I have killed them all.\par
37 For I will cause Elam to be dismayed before their enemies, and before them that seek their life: and I will bring evil upon them, even my fierce anger, saith the LORD; and I will send the sword after them, till I have consumed them:

I will scatter the people of Judah\par through other nations.\par They will live in strange nations.\par They and their fathers never knew\par about those countries.\par I will send men with swords.\par Those men will kill the people of Judah.\par They will kill them until the people\par are finished.”\par
Moab will not be praised again.\par Men in Heshbon will plan Moab’s defeat.\par They will say,\par ‘Come, let us put an end to that nation.’\par Madmenah, you will also be silenced.\par The sword will chase you.\par
I will force the king’s people to live in the foreign countries around Israel. And I will scatter his army to the winds. And the enemy soldiers will chase after them.
One third of your people will die inside the city from diseases and hunger. One third of your people will die in battle outside the city. And then I will pull out my sword and chase one third of your people into faraway countries.
Sword, kill the priests of Babylon.\par Those priests will be like foolish people.\par Sword, kill the soldiers of Babylon.\par Those soldiers will be full of terror.\par
Their tents and flocks will be taken away.\par Their tent and all their riches\par will be carried off.\par Their enemy will take away the camels.\par Men will shout this to them:\par ‘Terrible things are happening all around us.’\par
The city of Damascus has become weak.\par The people want to run away.\par The people are ready to panic.\par The people feel pain and suffering\par like a woman having a baby.\par
The Lord will be like an eagle\par flying over the animal that it will attack.\par The Lord will be like an eagle\par spreading its wings over Bozrah.\par At that time, Edom’s soldiers\par will become very scared.\par They will be crying from fear\par like a woman having a baby.\par
But the Lord All-Powerful says this:\par “I will bring troubles to you\par from every side.\par You will all run away.\par And no one will be able\par to bring you together again.”\par
“Moab is shattered. The people are crying. Moab surrendered. Now Moab is ashamed. People make fun of Moab—but the things that happened fill them with fear.”\par
The Lord will be angry\par until he finishes punishing the people.\par He will be angry until he finishes\par the punishment he planned.\par When that day comes,\par you people of Judah will understand.\par
Hear this, people of the earth.\par I am going to bring disaster\par to the people of Judah.\par Why? Because of all the bad things\par that those people planned.\par And because they ignored my messages.\par Those people refused to obey my law.”\par
So the Lord All-Powerful,\par the God of Israel, says,\par “I will soon make the people of Judah\par eat bitter food.\par I will make them drink poisoned water.\par
