Then Jerusalem will be a wonderful place. People will be happy. And people from other nations will praise it. This will happen at the time those people hear about the good things happening there. They will hear about the good things I am doing for Jerusalem.


“Sheshach {\cf2\super [427]} will be defeated.\par The best and proudest country\par of the whole earth\par will be taken captive.\par People from other nations\par will look at Babylon,\par and the things they see\par will make them afraid.\par


The rulers will be afraid of her suffering and stand far away. The rulers will say:


“Moab is shattered. The people are crying. Moab surrendered. Now Moab is ashamed. People make fun of Moab—but the things that happened fill them with fear.”\par


Moab will not be praised again.\par Men in Heshbon will plan Moab’s defeat.\par They will say,\par ‘Come, let us put an end to that nation.’\par Madmenah, you will also be silenced.\par The sword will chase you.\par


I will bring back the kind of judges you had in the beginning. Your counselors will be like the counselors you had long ago. Then you will be called ‘The Good and Faithful City.’”
