We are your people.\par We are the sheep in your flock.\par We will praise you forever.\par God, we will praise you\par forever and ever.\par


And Satan (the one who tricked those people) was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur with the animal and the false prophet. {\cf2\super [155]} There they will be tortured (punished) day and night forever and ever.


Those false teachers are like rivers that have no water. They are like clouds that are blown by a storm. A place in the deepest darkness has been kept for them.


Maybe the people of Edom will say, “We were destroyed. But we will go back and build our cities again.”


Lord, I have heard the news about you.\par Lord, I am amazed at the powerful things\par that you did in the past.\par Now I pray that you will do great things\par in our time.\par Please make those things happen\par in our own days.\par But in your excitement, remember to show mercy to us.\par SELAH {\cf2\super [12]} \par


You seem to have forgotten us forever, Lord.\par You seem to have left us alone\par for such a long time.\par


Lord, correct us!\par But be fair!\par Don’t punish us in anger!\par


Jeremiah, look toward the north and speak this message:


Some people don’t follow you.\par Those people don’t wear your name.\par


Children from other lands\par will build your walls again.\par Their kings will serve you.\par


These people did evil things,\par and it made me angry.\par So, I punished Israel.\par I turned away from him\par because I was angry.\par And Israel left me.\par He went wherever he wanted.\par


“I, I am the One who wipes away all your sins. I do this to please myself. I will not remember your sins.


Lord, I am yours, so save me!\par Why? Because I try hard to obey\par your commands.\par


Lord, don’t criticize me in anger.\par Don’t discipline me in anger.\par


Lord, don’t correct me in anger.\par Don’t be angry and punish {\cf2\super [31]} me.\par


The Lord said,\par “These are my people.\par These are my real children.”\par So the Lord saved those people.\par


Jeremiah said to those people, “The Lord remembered that you made sacrifices in the towns of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem. You and your ancestors, {\cf2\super [359]} your kings, your officials, and the people of the land did that. The Lord remembered what you had done, and thought about that.


You were very angry at us.\par Have you completely rejected us?\par


And the family of Israel will never again depend on Egypt. The Israelites will remember their sin—they will remember that they turned to Egypt \{for help and not to God\}. And they will know that I am the Lord and Master.”


I will destroy your cities. I will make your holy places empty. I will stop smelling your offerings.


Nebuzaradan burned the Lord’s temple, [318] the king’s house, and all the houses in Jerusalem. He destroyed even the largest houses.


Your holy people lived in their land\par only a short time.\par Then our enemies trampled (walk on)\par your holy temple. {\cf2\super [463]} \par


The Lord rejected his altar.\par He rejected his Holy Place of worship.\par He let the enemy pull down the walls\par of the palaces of Jerusalem.\par The enemy shouted with joy\par in the Lord’s temple.\par They made noise, as if it were a holiday.\par


Mount Zion is a wasteland.\par Foxes run around on Mount Zion.\par
