Isaiah 4:5 - Easy To Read Version

5 \{At that time, God will prove that he is with his people.\} During the day, God will make a cloud of smoke. And during the night, God will make a bright flaming fire. {\cf2\super [41]} These proofs will be in the sky over every building and over every meeting of the people on the mountain of Zion. {\cf2\super [42]} There will be a covering over every person {\cf2\super [43]} for protection.

With the tall cloud, you led them by day.\par And at night you used the column of fire.\par That is the way you lit their path,\par and showed them where to go.\par


Each day God led them with the tall cloud.\par And each night God led them with\par the light from the column of fire.\par


“Jerusalem, my light, get up!\par Your Light (God) is coming!\par The Glory of the Lord {\cf2\super [451]} will shine on you.\par


I will do good things! Soon, I will save \{my people\}. I will bring salvation to Zion and to my wonderful Israel.”


Look at Zion {\cf2\super [310]} , the city of our religious holidays. Look at Jerusalem—that beautiful place of rest. Jerusalem is like a tent that will never be moved. The pegs that hold her in place will never be pulled up. Her ropes will never be broken.


God will soon save his followers.\par We will soon live with honor on our land.\par


Teach those people to obey everything that I have told you. You can be sure that I will be with you always. I will continue with you until the end of the world.”


God meets together with the holy ones.\par Those angels are all around him.\par They fear and respect God.\par They stand in awe of him.\par


Early that morning, the Lord looked down from the tall cloud and column of fire at the Egyptian army. Then the Lord attacked and defeated them all.


I will protect this city and save it.\par I will do this for myself\par and for my servant David.”\par


My people will live in the beautiful field of peace. My people will live in tents of safety. They will live in calm and peaceful places.


Praise the Lord!\par I thank the Lord with all my heart\par in the assembly where good people\par meet together.\par


“Make another tent that will cover the Holy Tent. [193] Use eleven curtains to make this tent. Make these curtains from goat hair.


{The Lord said to Moses,} “The Holy Tent [188] should be made from ten curtains. These curtains must be made from fine linen [189] and blue, purple, and red yarn. A skilled worker should sew pictures of Cherub angels [190] with wings into the curtains.


This is true, because if two or three people are together believing in me, I am there with them.”


The Glory of the Lord [160] came down on Mount Sinai. The cloud covered the mountain for six days. On the seventh day, the Lord spoke to Moses from the cloud.


God spread out his cloud like a blanket.\par God used his column of fire\par to give his people light at night.\par


Darkness now covers the earth\par and the people are in darkness.\par But the Lord will shine on you,\par and his Glory will appear on you.\par
