9 Judah is like a lion. My son, you are like a lion standing over the animal it killed. Judah is like a lion. He lies down to rest, and no one is brave enough to disturb him.

“Israel is like a lion, curled up and lying down. Yes, they are like a young lion, and no one wants to wake him! Any person who blesses you will be blessed. And any person who speaks against you will have great troubles.”


But one of the elders {\cf2\super [38]} said to me, “Don’t cry! The Lion (Christ) from Judah’s family group has won the victory. He is David’s {\cf2\super [39]} descendant. {\cf2\super [40]} He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.”


The people are as strong as a lion. They fight like a lion. And that lion will not rest, until he has eaten his enemy. And that lion will not rest, until he drinks the blood of the people who are against him.”


But the survivors {\cf2\super [67]} from Jacob in the nations\par scattered among those people\par will be like a lion\par among the animals in the forest.\par They will be like a young lion\par among flocks of sheep.\par If the lion passes through,\par he goes where he wants to go.\par If he attacks an animal,\par then no one can save that animal.\par \{The survivors will be like that.\}\par


Why? Because I will be like a lion to Ephraim.\par I will be like a young lion\par to the nation {\cf2\super [62]} of Judah.\par I—yes, I (the Lord)—will rip them to pieces.\par I will carry them away,\par And no person can save.\par


“‘The mother lion had hoped that cub would become the leader.\par But now she lost all hope.\par So she took another of her cubs.\par She trained him to be a lion.\par


Then the end will come. Christ will destroy all rulers, authorities, and powers. Then Christ will give the kingdom to God the Father.


The people of Israel have done many bad things. And those bad things keep them from coming back to their God. They are always thinking of ways to chase after other gods. They don’t know the Lord.


There were also two lions on each of the six steps. There was one lion at each end. There was nothing like this in any other kingdom.


The throne had six steps on it. And it had a footstool {\cf2\super [157]} that was made of gold. There were armrests on both sides of the throne’s seat. A statue of a lion stood next to each armrest.
