6 They planned evil things in secret.
My soul wants no part in their plans.
I will not accept their secret meetings.
They killed men when they were angry.
And they hurt animals only for fun.
6 O my soul, come not thou into their secret; Unto their assembly, mine honour, be not thou united: For in their anger they slew a man, And in their selfwill they digged down a wall.
6 O my soul, come not into their secret council; unto their assembly let not my honor be united [for I knew nothing of their plot], because in their anger they slew men [an honored man, Shechem, and the Shechemites], and in their self-will they disabled oxen.
6 O my soul, come not thou into their council; Unto their assembly, my glory, be not thou united; For in their anger they slew a man, And in their self-will they hocked an ox.
6 May I myself never enter their council. May my honor never be linked to their group; for when they were angry, they killed men, and whenever they wished, they maimed oxen.
6 Let not my soul go by their counsel, nor my glory be within their meeting. For in their fury they killed a man, and in their self-will they undermined a wall.
But Jacob said to Simeon and Levi, “You have given me much trouble. All the people in this place will hate me. All the Canaanite people and the Perizzite people will turn against me. There are only a few of us. If the people in this place gather together to fight against us, then I will be destroyed. And all our people will be destroyed with me.”
You are not the same as those people who don’t believe. So don’t join yourselves to them. Good and bad don’t belong together. Light and darkness cannot have fellowship (sharing).

David took from Hadadezer 1,000 chariots {\cf2\super [198]} , 7,000 chariot drivers, and 20,000 soldiers. David also crippled most of Hadadezer’s horses that were used for pulling chariots. But David saved enough horses to pull 100 chariots.
