Genesis 3:19 - Easy To Read Version

19 You will work hard for your food, until your face is covered with sweat. You will work hard until the day you die. And then you will become dust again. I used dust to make you. And when you die you will become dust again.”

Your body came from the earth.\par And when you die,\par your body will go back to the earth.\par But your spirit came from God.\par And when you die,\par your spirit will go back to God.\par


then all the people on earth would die.\par All people would become dust again.\par


And when you turn away from them,\par they become frightened.\par Their spirits leave them;\par they grow weak and die;\par and their bodies become dust again.\par


Then the Lord God took dust from the ground and made a man. [9] The Lord breathed the breath of life into the man’s nose, and the man became a living thing.


You bring people into this world.\par And you change them into dust again.\par


If a person is stealing, he must stop stealing. That person must start working. He must use his hands for doing something good. Then he will have something to share with those people who are poor.


The bodies of people and animals end the same way. They came from the earth, and in the end they will go back to the earth.


Then Abraham said, “Compared to you, Lord, I am only dust and ashes. But let me bother you again and ask you this question:


Many of the people that are dead and buried {\cf2\super [133]} will wake up. Some of them will wake up to have life forever. But some will wake up to have shame and disgrace forever.


Do people really gain anything from all the hard work they do in this life? {\cf2\super [2]} \{No!\}


My mouth {\cf2\super [127]} is as dry\par as a piece of broken pottery.\par My tongue is sticking\par to the top of my mouth.\par You have put me in the “dust of death.”\par


“I am only a traveler staying in your country. I have no place to bury my wife. Please give me some land so I can bury my wife.”


When we were with you, we gave you this rule: “If a person will not work, then he will not eat.”


God knows all about us.\par God knows we are made from dust.\par


Brothers and sisters, I know that you remember how hard we worked. We worked night and day. We did not want to burden you \{by making you pay us\} while we did the work of telling God’s Good News to you.


A person comes into the world from his mother’s body with nothing. And when that person dies, he leaves the same way—with nothing. He works hard to get things. But he can take nothing with him when he dies.


I decided to study and to use my wisdom to learn about all the things that are done in this life. I learned that it is a very hard thing that God gave us to do.


If a person leaves the way of wisdom, then he is going toward destruction.


Strong, healthy people have eaten\par and bowed down before God.\par In fact, all people,\par those who will die\par and those who are already dead,\par will bow down before God!\par


In the end, both of those people\par will lie together in the dirt.\par The worms will cover them both.\par


After I leave my body\par and my skin has been destroyed,\par I know I will still see God.\par


The first man came from the dust of the earth. The second man (Christ) came from heaven.


Every person must die once. After a person dies, he is judged.


The ground will grow thorns and weeds for you. And you will have to eat the plants that grow wild in the fields. [19]


So surely people are worse!\par People live in houses of clay. {\cf2\super [11]} \par The foundations of these houses of clay\par are in the dirt.\par They are crushed to death\par more easily than a moth!\par


Then people go out to do their work.\par And they work until evening.\par


It is a waste of time\par to get up early and stay up late,\par trying to make a living.\par God cares for the people he loves,\par even while they are sleeping.\par


So Adam lived a total of 930 years; then he died.


God, remember, you made me like clay.\par Will you make into clay again?\par
