So Jacob went to his father and kissed him. Isaac smelled Esau’s clothes and blessed him. Isaac said,


“Be careful of the teachers of the law. They like to walk around wearing clothes that look important. And they love for people to show respect to them in the market places. They love to get the most important seats in the synagogues. {\cf2\super [327]} And they love to get the most important seats at the feasts.


But the father said to his servants, ‘Hurry! Bring the best clothes and dress him. Also, put a ring on his finger and good shoes on his feet.


So Jacob went out and got two goats and brought them to his mother. His mother cooked the goats in the special way that Isaac loved.


Rebekah took the skins of the goats and put them on Jacob’s hands and on his neck.
