Genesis 21:14 - Easy To Read Version

14 Early the next morning, Abraham got some food and some water. Abraham gave these things to Hagar. Hagar carried these things and left with her boy. Hagar left that place and wandered in the desert of Beersheba.

A slave does not stay with a family forever. But a son belongs to the family forever.


Every time you find work to do, do it the best you can. In the grave there is no work. There is no thinking, no knowledge, and there is no wisdom. And we are all going to that \{place of death\}.


Don’t wake up your neighbor early in the morning with a shout of, “Good morning!” He will treat it like a curse, not a blessing.


I hurried back to obey your commands\par without delay.\par


Some of them wandered in the dry desert.\par They were looking for a place to live,\par but they could not find a city.\par

So Israel began his trip to Egypt. First Israel went to Beersheba. There, Israel worshiped God, the God of his father Isaac. He offered sacrifices. [246]


At Shechem, Joseph became lost. A man found him wandering in the fields. The man said, “What are you looking for?”


So Isaac named that well Shibah. [157] And that city is still called Beersheba. [158]


Then he and his men had something to eat and drink and then spent the night there. Early the next morning, they got up and said, “Now we must go back to my master.”


Then Abraham went back to his servants. They all traveled back to Beersheba and Abraham stayed there.


In the morning Abraham got up and saddled his donkey. Abraham took Isaac and two servants with him. Abraham cut the wood for the sacrifice. [119] Then they went to the place God told them to go.


Abraham planted a special tree at Beersheba. At that place, Abraham prayed to the Lord, the God who lives forever.


Early that same morning, Abraham got up and went to the place where he stood before the Lord.


But I will also bless the son of your slave woman. He is your son, so I will make a great nation from his family also.”


After some time, all the water was gone. There was none left to drink. So Hagar put her son under a bush.


A man away from home is like a bird away from its nest.


Jacob got up very early in the morning. Jacob took the rock he had slept on and set it up on its edge. Then he poured oil on the rock. In this way, he made this rock a memorial to God.


Early the next morning, Joshua and all the people of Israel got up and left Acacia. [4] They traveled to the Jordan River and camped there before they went across.


Samuel got up early the next morning and went to meet Saul. But the people told Samuel, “Saul went to {the town in Judah named} Carmel. Saul went there to set up a stone monument to honor himself. Saul is traveling around to several places and will finally go down to Gilgal.”


King Hezekiah gathered the city officials and went up to the temple {\cf2\super [346]} of the Lord early the next morning.
