Genesis 2:7 - Easy To Read Version

7 Then the Lord God took dust from the ground and made a man. [9] The Lord breathed the breath of life into the man’s nose, and the man became a living thing.

Like the Scriptures {\cf2\super [116]} say, “The first man (Adam) became a living thing. {\cf2\super [117]} ” {\cf2\super [118]} But the last Adam (Christ) became a spirit that gives life.


God’s Spirit made me.\par My life comes from \{God\} All-Powerful.\par


Your body came from the earth.\par And when you die,\par your body will go back to the earth.\par But your spirit came from God.\par And when you die,\par your spirit will go back to God.\par


But Lord, you are our father.\par We are like clay.\par And you are the potter. {\cf2\super [464]} \par Your hands made us all.\par


This God is the One who gives life, breath, and everything else to people. He does not need any help from people. God has everything he needs.


The first man came from the dust of the earth. The second man (Christ) came from heaven.


You will work hard for your food, until your face is covered with sweat. You will work hard until the day you die. And then you will become dust again. I used dust to make you. And when you die you will become dust again.”


But as long as life is in me\par and God’s breath of life is in my nose,\par


The sad message from the Lord about Israel. The Lord made the sky and the earth. He put man’s spirit in him. And the Lord said these things.


God knows all about us.\par God knows we are made from dust.\par


Know that the Lord is God.\par He made us.\par We are his people,\par We are his sheep.\par


\{Don’t ask that.\} You are only people. And people have no right to question God. A clay jar does not question the man that made it. The jar does not say, “Why did you make me like this?”


So the Lord God forced the man to leave the garden of Eden. Adam [22] was forced to go and work the ground he was made from.


We have all had fathers here on earth who punished us. And we respected our fathers. So it is even more important that we accept punishment from the Father of our spirits. If we do this we will have life.


But Moses and Aaron bowed to the ground and cried out, “God, you know what people are thinking. [208] Please don’t be angry at all these people. Only one man really sinned.”


A person's spirit is like a lamp to the Lord. The Lord is able to see into the deepest parts of a person. {\cf2\super [29]}


You and I are the same\par in front of God.\par God used clay to make both of us.\par


We know that \{our body\}—the tent we live in here on earth—will be destroyed. But when that happens, God will have a home for us to live in. It will not be a home made by men. It will be a home in heaven that will continue forever.


We have this treasure \{from God\}. But we are only like clay jars that hold the treasure. This shows that this great power is from God, not from us.


After Jesus said that, he breathed \{on the followers\}. Jesus said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. {\cf2\super [266]}


So surely people are worse!\par People live in houses of clay. {\cf2\super [11]} \par The foundations of these houses of clay\par are in the dirt.\par They are crushed to death\par more easily than a moth!\par


“The Lord is the God who knows what people are thinking. Lord, I pray that you will choose a leader for these people. [322]


There is a time to tear cloth,\par and there is a time to sew it.\par There is a time to be silent,\par and a time to speak.\par


Because Adam was made first. Eve was made later.


Water [8] came up from the earth and spread over the ground.


The king was very important to us.\par He was like the breath we breathe.\par But the king was trapped by them.\par The king was chosen by the Lord himself.\par We had said about the king,\par “We will live in his shadow.\par He protects us from the nations.”\par


The Lord my Master says these things to you: I will cause breath {\cf2\super [288]} to come into you, and you will come to life!


So God made people in his own image. God made people as a copy of himself. [7] God made them male and female.


I will put sinews and muscles on you. And I will cover you with skin. Then I will put breath in you, and you will come back to life! Then you will know that I am the Lord and Master.’”
