Abraham was circumcised later to show that God accepted him. His circumcision was proof that he was right with God through faith before he was circumcised. So Abraham is the father of all people that believe but are not circumcised. Those people believe and are accepted like people that are right with God.


God made an agreement with Abraham; the sign for this agreement was circumcision. {\cf2\super [126]} And so when Abraham had a son, he circumcised his son when he was eight days old. His son’s name was Isaac. Isaac also circumcised his son Jacob. And Jacob did the same for \{his sons. These sons later became\} the twelve fathers. {\cf2\super [127]}


“Stop being stubborn. Give your hearts to the Lord.

And God said, “And I will give you something to prove that I made this promise to you. This proof will show that I have made an agreement with you and every living thing on earth. This agreement will continue for all times to come. This is the proof:
