Then Jesus began to explain everything that had been written about himself in the Scriptures. {\cf2\super [393]} Jesus started with the books of Moses and then he talked about what the prophets had said about him.


He argued very strongly against the Jews before all the people. Apollos clearly proved that the Jews were wrong. He used the Scriptures and showed that Jesus is the Christ. {\cf2\super [375]}


I decided that while I was with you I would forget about everything except Jesus Christ and his death on the cross.


Paul and the Jews chose a day for a meeting. On that day many more of these Jews met with Paul at his house. Paul spoke to them all day long. Paul explained the kingdom of God to them. Paul tried to persuade them to believe the things about Jesus. He used the law of Moses and the writings of the prophets {\cf2\super [527]} to do this.


Jesus taught the people. He said:


The apostles did not stop teaching people. The apostles continued to tell the people the Good News—that Jesus is the Christ. {\cf2\super [105]} They did this every day in the temple {\cf2\super [106]} yard and in people’s homes.


I know that you heard about him. And you are in him, so you were taught the truth. Yes, the truth is in Jesus.


We have spoken freely to you people in Corinth. We have opened our hearts to you.


But this is the message we tell everyone: Christ was killed on a cross. This message is a big problem to the Jews. And the non-Jews think it is foolish.


Some of these believers were men from Cyprus and Cyrene. When these men came to Antioch, they also spoke to Greeks (non-Jews). They told these Greek people the Good News about the Lord Jesus.


Peter began to speak: “I really understand now that to God every person is the same.


Soon he began to go to the synagogues {\cf2\super [193]} and tell people about Jesus. He told the people, “Jesus is the Son of God!”


Then the Lord (God) will give you times of spiritual rest. He will give you Jesus, the One he chose to be the Christ.


Some of the Epicurean and some of the Stoic philosophers {\cf2\super [353]} argued with him.


The officer said to Philip, “Please, tell me, who is the prophet {\cf2\super [178]} talking about? Is he talking about himself or about someone else?”
