26 ‘Go to this people (the Jews) and tell them:\par You will listen and you will hear,\par but you will not understand!\par You will look and you will see,\par but you will not understand\par what you see!\par
26 Go to this people and say to them, You will indeed hear and hear with your ears but will not understand, and you will indeed look and look with your eyes but will not see [not perceive, have knowledge of or become acquainted with what you look at, at all].
26 saying, Go thou unto this people, and say, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall in no wise understand; And seeing ye shall see, and shall in no wise perceive:
26 “Go to this people and say:” “You will hear, to be sure, but never understand;” “and you will certainly see but never recognize what you are seeing.”
“Son of man, {\cf2\super [102]} you live among rebellious people—they always turn against me. They have eyes to see \{the things I have done for them\}. But they don’t see those things. They have ears to hear \{the things I told them to do\}. But they don’t hear my commands. Why? Because they are a rebellious people.
So I decided to use their own tricks!\par \{I mean that\} I will punish them\par using the things they are most afraid of.\par I called to those people,\par but they did not listen.\par I spoke to them,\par but they did not hear me.\par So I will do the same thing to them.\par Those people did things I said are evil.\par They chose to do things I did not like.”\par
So I will continue to amaze these people by doing powerful and amazing things. Their wise men will lose their wisdom. Their wise men will not be able to understand.”
