Acts 15:2 - Easy To Read Version

2 Paul and Barnabas were against this teaching. They argued with these men about it. So the group decided to send Paul, Barnabas, and some other men to Jerusalem. These men were going there to talk more about this with the apostles {\cf2\super [297]} and elders. {\cf2\super [298]}

But we did not agree with anything those false brothers wanted! We wanted the truth of the Good News to continue for you.


I don’t think that those “great apostles {\cf2\super [33]} ” are any better than I am.


Paul, Barnabas, and the others arrived in Jerusalem. The apostles, {\cf2\super [299]} the elders, {\cf2\super [300]} and the whole group of believers welcomed them. Paul, Barnabas, and the others told about all the things that God had done with them.


They gathered the money and gave it to Barnabas and Saul. Then Barnabas and Saul brought it to the elders {\cf2\super [232]} in Judea.


Greetings from Paul. I was called (chosen) to be an apostle {\cf2\super [1]} of Christ Jesus. I was called because that is what God wanted.


The next day, Paul went with us to visit James. All the elders {\cf2\super [420]} (church leaders) were there too.


Then Paul and the men with him traveled through other cities. {\cf2\super [328]} They gave the believers the rules and decisions from the apostles {\cf2\super [329]} and elders {\cf2\super [330]} in Jerusalem. They told the believers to obey these rules.


So we have sent Judas and Silas with them. They will tell you the same things.


We have all agreed to choose some men and send them to you. They will be with our dear friends, Barnabas and Paul.


The Spirit {\cf2\super [222]} told me to go with them without doubting. These six brothers (believers) here also went with me. We went to the house of Cornelius.


Peter asked the men to come in and stay for the night.


The Lord told Samuel, “Do what the people tell you. They have not rejected you. They have rejected me! They don’t want me to be their king!


If you do these things, Lord willing, then you will be still able to do your job. And at the same time, the people can go home with their problems solved.”
