David became stronger and stronger because the Lord All-Powerful was with him.


I have been with you everywhere you went. I went ahead of you and I killed your enemies. Now I will make you one of the most famous men on earth.


Then David put groups of soldiers in Damascus, Aram. The Arameans became David’s servants and brought tribute. [56] The Lord gave victory to David in every place he went.


The Lord was with David. So David was successful in everything.


David put groups of soldiers in Edom. He put these groups of soldiers through all the land of Edom. All the people of Edom became servants of David. The Lord gave victory to David every place he went.


I will build a great nation from you. I will bless you and make your name famous. People will use your name to bless other people.


God brought down rulers from their thrones,\par and he raised up the humble people.\par


I finished his enemies.\par I defeated the people who hated\par my chosen king.\par


With your help, Lord, I can run with the soldiers. With God’s help, I can climb over enemy walls.


The Lord raises poor people from the dust. He takes away their sadness. [22] The Lord makes poor people important. He seats them with princes and at the places for honored guests. The Lord made the whole world! And the whole world belongs to him! [23]


[133] David sang this song at the time the Lord saved him from Saul and all his other enemies.


So Saul, his three sons, and the boy who carried his armor all died together that day.


So the Philistines sent God’s Holy Box to Ekron.


David defeated 18,000 Arameans in Salt Valley. He was famous when he came home.

So the Lord was with Joshua. And Joshua became famous all throughout the whole country.


The Philistine commanders continued to go out to fight the Israelites. But every time, David defeated them. David was Saul’s best officer! David became famous.


I beat my enemies into pieces. They were like dust on the ground. I crushed my enemies. I walked on them like mud in the streets.


God, you really blessed the king forever.\par When the king sees your face,\par it makes him very happy.\par
